Corvera Murcia Airport makes accessibility to the Costa Calida and the beautiful Spanish city of Murcia much more accessible, with its own international airport.
This international airport will be larger and offer more facilities and services than the nearby Murcia San Javier airport. San Javier airport will close down and return to military use and Corvera airport will replace San Javier airport as the main airport for the Murcia region. As such, the new airport will be known as the Region de Murcia International Airport, or the Murcia International Airport.
The main terminal building will be approximately 37,000 square meters in size and has 24 check-in desks and a counter for special baggage requirements on departure will be in the main hall.
There will also be 3 double security checks from the large hall leading to the departure area with 9 entrance gates. 6 of the boarding gates will be for non-Schengen countries and 3 for Schengen countries (the Schengen area consists of 26 European states that have no border control between each other).
