Christmas starts in Alicante

The first day of December has arrived and the city of Alicante is getting ready for Christmas. Since yesterday, you can visit the Municipal Belen – Nativity Scene – which is situated in the Mercado Central on Alfonso X El Sabio until the 7th January, it will generally be open from 08.00 – 21.00h.

From today on until 7th January there is a temporary 390m2 ice skating rink on the Plaza del Ayuntamiento. Opening hours from 10.00 – 14.00h and in the afternoon from 16.00 – 23.00h. Tonight at 19.00h the Christmas Lights will be turned on at the same place.

The temporary 35-meter-long Toboggan Run is located in the Plaza de la Montañeta and starts to run from tomorrow till the 7th January, daily from 10.00 – 14.00h and in the afternoon from 16.00 – 23.00h. You can visit the house of Santa Claus in the Parque de la Ereta (the park just below the Castle) where it will snow every day! There are activities and games for the children (charged for by time), music and of course the opportunity to see Father Christmas (free). This can be visited from the 6th to the 23rd December from 12.00 – 20.00h and on the 24th & 25th December from 10.00 – 14.00h.

The Children’s Christmas Playground at Plaza Seneca can be visited as of 15 December. The week after, there will be different Christmas markets everywhere.
