The Costa Blanca has everything for holidaymakers and winter lovers. Below we give you a brief overview of this Costa.

The Costa Blanca

Location / Alicante
The Costa Blanca is on the east side of the Spanish mainland. In the south, the region borders the Costa Calida and in the north of the Costa del Azahar. The coast borders the Mediterranean Sea.

Beach
Alicante is one of the most famous cities on the Costa Blanca, with the beautiful palm boulevard and the cozy shopping street. The coast has its good name due to the kilometers long beaches of +/- 50m wide and attracts many sun worshipers and pleasure seekers. The sun is almost always shining, and the azure Mediterranean coast invites you for a swim all year round. The sandy beach is about 10 min drive by car and is accessible to the beach itself. The beach gradually descends into the sea and is therefore very suitable for children and there is also play equipment available. During the high season the beach is guarded by beach guards. Nude beaches are also found on the Costa Blanca, and especially on the nude beach of La Marina it is a wonderful experience.

Sightseeing / Excursions
The beautiful historic castle of Santa Barbara, in Alicante, is definitely worth a visit. The castle is on the Benacantil hill from which you have a beautiful view of the city. In Elche you can visit the Priests Garden with a wide variety of plants, shrubs, cacti and the famous eight-star Imperial Palm. Or a trip through the palace forest of Elche (Organized). You can also visit the 17th-century St. Mary’s Church, located in the old town center, where Elche’s Passion Games The Mystery of Elche is raised each year. In Torrevieja you will find a hot water park called Aquópolis from June to September (Please note, this is fun for young and old!). In addition, you can not miss a fantastic jeepsafari by the hinterland! Of course there are many more excursions to discover.

Wintering
When winter is back on track, many Dutch people go to the Costa Blanca, a popular place for winter lovers. Summer is going to live here 24 hours a day; In the winter months it is quieter, but there is still a lot of experience. However, there are also enough places outside these cities. Think of Castle Santa Barbara or the picturesque mountain village of Guadalest. A jeep safari through the hinterland, a trek through the palace forest of Elche or a visit to one of the spectacular nightclubs is definitely worth it.

In all towns and villages, various stores are located for daily groceries (drugstore, bakery, cigarshop and large supermarkets). If you really want to go out for a day out, you can hit the streets of Alicante and Elche where big shopping centers are.
